Getting started with HuskyBIM
From zero to your first AI-powered AEC workflow in under 10 minutes. This guide covers everything you need — account, download, installation and a first test.
Before you begin
You need three things before starting:
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Claude Desktop | The desktop app for Claude by Anthropic. Download from claude.ai/download. A Claude subscription is required. |
| HuskyBIM account | A free HuskyBIM account. Get started here if you don't have one yet. |
| AEC software | The software you want to connect to — Revit 2024-2027, AutoCAD 2026/2027, Archicad 29, Navisworks 2026, Microsoft Project, Sigma or Dalux, or none (for HuskyMCP). |
Step-by-step setup
Create your free account
Go to /get-started and sign up with your email — HuskyBIM is free. You'll receive a one-time verification code, and your account is accessed by code — no password required.
Install Claude Desktop
Download and install Claude Desktop from claude.ai/download. Sign in with your Anthropic account. Claude Desktop must be running alongside your AEC software for HuskyBIM to work.
Download your HuskyBIM connector
Log in to your account page and go to the Downloads section. Download the installer for the software you want to connect to:
• Revit (2024-2027): HuskyBIM_for_Revit_2026_v1.53.exe (and per-version builds) — run the installer
• AutoCAD (2026 & 2027): HuskyBIM_for_AutoCAD_v1.19.exe — run the installer
• Archicad 29: HuskyBIM_for_ArchiCAD_29_v1.5.49.exe — run the installer
• Navisworks 2026: HuskyBIM_for_Navisworks_v1.3.7.exe — run the installer
• MS Project: HuskyBIM_for_MS_Project_v1.3.mcpb — install via Claude Desktop
• Sigma Estimates: HuskyBIM_for_Sigma_v1.2.7.mcpb — install via Claude Desktop
• Dalux: HuskyBIM_for_Dalux_v0.4.2.mcpb — install via Claude Desktop
• HuskyMCP: no download — add https://mcp.huskybim.com/mcp as a custom connector in Claude Desktop
Install and activate
Revit and Archicad 29: Double-click the .exe installer and approve the Windows security prompt (enter an administrator password if asked). Do not right-click and choose "Run as administrator" — activation must run from your own account. When prompted, enter the email address for your free HuskyBIM account. The installer validates your account, installs the add-in and configures Claude Desktop automatically — no further setup needed.
AutoCAD and Navisworks: Double-click the .exe installer — no administrator rights are needed. Activation works the same way.
MS Project, Sigma and Dalux: On your account page, generate an Extension Token. Then double-click the .mcpb file (or drag it into Claude Desktop) and paste the token when asked. See the token guide for details.
HuskyMCP: In Claude Desktop go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it HuskyMCP and paste https://mcp.huskybim.com/mcp.
Open your AEC software and Claude Desktop
Start both Claude Desktop and your AEC software (e.g. Revit with a project open). HuskyBIM connects automatically when both are running.
Run your first workflow
In Claude Desktop, try a simple request to verify the connection is working:
List all levels in the current Revit model.Claude will call HuskyBIM and return the result directly in the conversation. If you see a list of levels, setup is complete.
Troubleshooting
Make sure both Claude Desktop and your AEC software are running with a project open. Try restarting Claude Desktop after installation. If the issue persists, re-run the installer.
Tokens are tied to your account. Generate a new token from your account page and re-enter it. See extension token for details.
