Setup guide

Getting started with HuskyBIM

From zero to your first AI-powered AEC workflow in under 10 minutes. This guide covers everything you need — account, download, installation and a first test.

Before you begin

You need three things before starting:

RequirementDetails
Claude DesktopThe desktop app for Claude by Anthropic. Download from claude.ai/download. A Claude subscription is required.
HuskyBIM subscriptionAn active HuskyBIM subscription. Get started here if you don't have one yet.
AEC softwareThe software you want to connect to — Revit 2026, Microsoft Project, Archicad 29, or none (for HuskyMCP).
HuskyBIM is a local connector, not a cloud service. It doesn't store your model or send it to HuskyBIM — it only validates your account (email + machine ID). The model data you ask Claude about is sent to Claude (Anthropic) through your own Claude Desktop to answer, exactly as in any Claude conversation; see privacy.

Step-by-step setup

1

Create your account and subscribe

Go to /get-started and choose a plan. You'll receive a confirmation email. Your account is accessed via one-time code — no password required.

2

Install Claude Desktop

Download and install Claude Desktop from claude.ai/download. Sign in with your Anthropic account. Claude Desktop must be running alongside your AEC software for HuskyBIM to work.

3

Download your HuskyBIM connector

Log in to your account page and go to the Downloads section. Download the installer for the software you want to connect to:

Revit: HuskyBIM_for_Revit_v1.5.exe — run the installer
ArchiCAD 29: HuskyBIM_for_ArchiCAD_29_v1.0.2.exe — run the installer
MS Project: HuskyBIM_for_MS_Project_v1.0.0.mcpb — install via Claude Desktop
HuskyMCP: no download — add https://mcp.huskybim.com/mcp as a custom connector in Claude Desktop

4

Install and activate

Revit / ArchiCAD 29: Run the .exe installer as Administrator. When prompted, enter the email address you used to subscribe. The installer validates your subscription, installs the add-in and configures Claude Desktop automatically — no further setup needed.

MS Project: On your account page, generate an Extension Token. Then drag the .mcpb file into Claude Desktop and paste the token when asked. See the token guide for details.

HuskyMCP: In Claude Desktop go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it HuskyMCP and paste https://mcp.huskybim.com/mcp.

5

Open your AEC software and Claude Desktop

Start both Claude Desktop and your AEC software (e.g. Revit with a project open). HuskyBIM connects automatically when both are running.

6

Run your first workflow

In Claude Desktop, try a simple request to verify the connection is working:

List all levels in the current Revit model.

Claude will call HuskyBIM and return the result directly in the conversation. If you see a list of levels, setup is complete.

Troubleshooting

Claude doesn't seem to have access to Revit or Archicad

Make sure both Claude Desktop and your AEC software are running with a project open. Try restarting Claude Desktop after installation. If the issue persists, re-run the installer.

MS Project token not accepted

Tokens are tied to your account. Generate a new token from your account page and re-enter it. See extension token for details.
