HuskyBIM for Navisworks

HuskyBIM for Navisworks connects Claude Desktop to Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2026 through a native .NET plugin. 78 operations cover model queries, clash detection, 4D TimeLiner simulation, viewpoints, section planes, appearance overrides, selection sets, geometry analysis and export — all in plain language, no scripting required.

No admin rights required. The installer runs without administrator privileges. The Navisworks plugin is installed to your user profile and Claude Desktop is configured automatically.

Example workflows

Run clash detection
Create a new clash test between the structural and mechanical disciplines, run it, and show me a summary of the results.
Review and resolve clashes
Show all active clashes in the "Structure vs MEP" test and mark the approved ones as resolved.
Isolate and inspect elements
Find all concrete columns in the model, isolate them, override their colour to blue and save the current view as a viewpoint called "Columns review".
Section box around elements
Create a section box around the items on level 3 so I can inspect just that floor.
4D TimeLiner review
List all TimeLiner tasks and show which ones are scheduled to start in June 2026. Export the full task list to a CSV file on my desktop.
Export model data
Export all element properties for the structural category to a CSV file, then capture a PNG screenshot of the current view.
Combined Revit + Navisworks workflow
Export the Revit model to IFC, open it in Navisworks, and run clash detection against the mechanical model.

Troubleshooting

Plugin not loading in Navisworks

Open Navisworks → Home → Tools → Global Options → Interface → Developer and confirm the plugin is listed. If not, re-run the installer and ensure Navisworks Manage 2026 is fully closed first.

Tools not visible in Claude Desktop

Ensure Navisworks is running with a model open and Claude Desktop has been restarted after installation. Check Claude Desktop → Settings → Extensions to confirm HuskyBIM for Navisworks is enabled.
