The short version: HuskyBIM never receives or stores your BIM model data — the connector runs on your machine and we collect only your email, a machine identifier, and a log of account and connector activity. The model data you ask Claude about is sent to Claude (Anthropic) through your own Claude Desktop to answer your questions, exactly as in any Claude conversation; that processing is governed by Anthropic's terms, not HuskyBIM.
1. Who we are
HuskyBIM operates the HuskyBIM platform, including MCP connectors for BIM software and our hosted knowledge services. References to “we”, “us”, or “our” refer to HuskyBIM. Contact: [email protected].
2. What we collect
When you create an account and use HuskyBIM, we collect:
- Email address — used to identify your account, validate your free account, and send transactional emails (verification codes and confirmations).
- Machine identifier — a one-way hash derived from your computer name. Used to enforce the 2-machine limit per account. No hardware serial numbers or personally identifiable device information is transmitted — only the hash.
- Connector version — the version number of the HuskyBIM connector you are running, sent with each validation request. Used to identify outdated installations.
- Account and connector event log — a timestamped record of account activity, including account creation, login, connector session starts, software downloads, and institutional deal activations. This log is tied to your email address and stored on our servers. It does not contain BIM data, file contents, or Claude conversation content.
- Anonymous usage data (setting “Share anonymous usage data” on your account page, on by default) — When on, HuskyBIM learns which tools are used across all users (never by whom), that you used a connector on a given day and whether it reached your host application, and which client (e.g. Claude Desktop) started it. It never sees what you asked, tool arguments, or model data. When off, we receive only what your free license needs: your account, a machine identifier, the connector and its version. Turning it off stops future reporting; already-received anonymous data cannot be traced to you.
HuskyBIM is free — we do not collect or process any payment or card information.
3. What we do not collect
HuskyBIM connectors run entirely on your local machine. We do not collect, transmit, or store:
- BIM model content, geometry, or project data
- Claude conversation content or prompts
- Any files from your BIM software
- Any data processed by the MCP tools during a Claude session
- IP addresses (beyond what Cloudflare processes at the network layer)
All communication between Claude Desktop and your BIM software happens locally over localhost and never reaches our servers.
4. How we use your data
- To verify that your account is active when a connector starts
- To enforce the 2-machine limit and detect unauthorised sharing
- To send transactional emails related to your account
- To provide customer support — the event log lets us understand your account history when you contact us
- To understand which connectors are in use and how the platform is being adopted, in aggregate
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Aggregated, anonymised statistics — such as total active users — may be used in our public communications about the platform.
5. Third-party services
6. Data retention
We retain your email address and account record for as long as your account exists. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
All validation requests are transmitted over HTTPS. Subscription data is stored on a private server with access controls and encrypted storage. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, though no system is completely secure.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
