What you can do
HuskyBIM for Navisworks covers 78 operations across 10 categories:
• Model & file operations — get model summary, units and linked files; open NWF/NWC/NWD files; save as NWF to enable write access
• Query & browse — query items by name or class; inspect properties; browse tree hierarchy; get leaf items; find items by property value; bulk property read; geometry statistics
• Selection — select, deselect and invert selections; select by category; save and apply named selection sets; create and delete selection sets
• Appearance & visibility — hide, show, isolate or highlight items; override colour with RGB values; set transparency; override entire categories; reset all appearance changes
• Viewpoints — list and activate saved viewpoints; save the current camera position; navigate the camera to a specific item; create viewpoint folders; delete viewpoints
• Section planes — enable sectioning; set section planes by normal and origin; create a section box from bounding coordinates, from named items or from the current selection; clear all sections
• Clash detection — list, create and run ClashDetective tests; get summaries and paginated results; update result status (New, Active, Reviewed, Approved, Resolved); export clash report as HTML
• TimeLiner 4D — list, create, update and delete tasks; get the overall date range; read simulation settings; export all tasks to CSV
• Export — export model as NWD; export to IFC; export element properties to CSV; export a model summary report; capture the current 3D view as PNG
• Animations — list all Animator animations and scenes defined in the model
Example workflows
Create a new clash test between the structural and mechanical disciplines, run it, and show me a summary of the results.Show all active clashes in the "Structure vs MEP" test and mark the approved ones as resolved.Find all concrete columns in the model, isolate them, override their colour to blue and save the current view as a viewpoint called "Columns review".Create a section box around the items on level 3 so I can inspect just that floor.List all TimeLiner tasks and show which ones are scheduled to start in June 2026. Export the full task list to a CSV file on my desktop.Export all element properties for the structural category to a CSV file, then capture a PNG screenshot of the current view.Export the Revit model to IFC, open it in Navisworks, and run clash detection against the mechanical model.Troubleshooting
Open Navisworks → Home → Tools → Global Options → Interface → Developer and confirm the plugin is listed. If not, re-run the installer and ensure Navisworks Manage 2026 is fully closed first.
Ensure Navisworks is running with a model open and Claude Desktop has been restarted after installation. Check Claude Desktop → Settings → Extensions to confirm HuskyBIM for Navisworks is enabled.
If activation fails, a message will appear at the end of installation. Your files are still installed — re-run the installer with the correct email. Contact [email protected] if the issue persists.
